Gradara, Pesaro e Urbino
In the hinterland of the Marche, the Gradara village dominates the whole valley with the fortress and the fortified city. Its history is known for the the tragic love between Francesca da Polenta and Paolo Malatesta, immortalized by Dante in Canto V of “Inferno”. Even today is possible to visit the rooms where the story took place and go to the Lovers’ path which goes up towards the hill from the castle, offering wonderful views.
Where to stay in camper: within walking distance from the castle there is a sloping motorhome area.
