With a surface area of 405.78 km, Krk is one of the largest islands in the Adriatic Sea. It is also the northernmost island in the Mediterranean Sea and the island closest to the European mainland.

The 1430 meter long Krk Bridge, built in 1980 and boasting an impressive appearance harmoniously blended with the picturesque island landscape, connects the island with the mainland.
